How do I see how many followers someone has on Product Hunt?
Type their Product Hunt username (or paste their profile link) above and press "Check followers". The count comes live from the Product Hunt API. You can compare up to five people at once, which helps when shortlisting a hunter.
Do Product Hunt followers matter for a launch?
Yes, reach is the biggest single factor in where a launch ranks. In our data, launches hunted by someone with 10K-50K followers averaged daily rank #5.6, against #15.7 for launches with no separate hunter.
How many followers does a good hunter have?
More is not always better. Across 9,306 launches (Jan 2025 to Jul 2026), the 10K-50K tier ranked best. A hunter's track record in your category matters as much as raw reach, so check their record in the hunter finder.
Why does a username show "could not check"?
The Product Hunt API occasionally rate-limits or times out. Wait a minute and try again. If it says the user does not exist, check the spelling against their profile URL (producthunt.com/@username).
